Farid Chedid is the Founder, Chairman and CEO of the Chedid Capital Holding group of companies.
He founded Chedid Re in 1998 as a reinsurance broker and underwriting agencies operating in the Middle East, Africa and parts of Europe. Within a few years, Chedid Re became a regional powerhouse and a global top 20 reinsurance broker.
In 2009, Mr. Chedid established Seib Insurance Company with a talented team of professionals, which went on to become a major insurance company in Qatar focusing on corporate and complex risks.
Moreover, Mr. Chedid is the Chairman and CEO of Chedid Insurance Brokers established in Lebanon, Cyprus, Turkey, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. His repertoire also includes being a board Member of a joint venture in City Brokers, the leading insurance broker in Mauritius and East Africa, as well as serving as the Chairman of Al Manara Insurance Services, one of UAE’s premier insurance broker.
Farid Chedid’s has been listed in the Power 50 ‘most influential individual in the insurance industry in the Middle East and North Africa’ title for 10years in a row, in addition to being awarded the ‘Middle East and Africa Industry Achiever of the Year 2016’.
Mr. Chedid is a member of the board of trustees at Notre Dame University; a member of Human Rights Watch, Beirut Committee; a UNDP Goodwill Ambassador; a Fellow of the Middle East Leadership Initiative (MELI), member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network (AGLN); a member of the board of Endeavor, Lebanon Chapter, a member of the Young President Organization (YPO), Lebanon Chapter, and a member of the MENA Insurance CEO Club (MICC).
He is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute of the UK, he holds a Masters in Risk Management from NYU Stern School of Business, USA; a Masters in Finance from ESCP Europe, France; a Masters in Management from Universite Paris IX Dauphine, France, as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Maritime Law from London Metropolitan University, UK.
Georges MokbelExecutive DirectorOperations
Georges Mokbel is the Executive Director of the Operations Division handling processing and quality assurance.
Before joining Chedid Re, Georges was a Senior Manager at Trust International Insurance Co. and Technical Head of Underwriting and Claims at Libano Suisse Insurance Co.
Georges holds an Accounting & Audit Diploma from the Centre National d'Etudes Superieurs et de Seminaires in Brussels, Belgium.
Habib JaaloukExecutive DirectorClient Management
Habib Jaalouk is Chedid Re's Executive Director.
Prior to joining Chedid Re, Habib was Partner and Director at General Reinsurance Services, Head of Reinsurance at Addison Bradely & Co and Engineering Underwriter, Member of Management, at Swiss Re.
Habib holds an MBA from the University of Lausanne, Switzerland and a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Ecole Polytechnique de Lausanne.
ELIE ABI RACHEDChief Executive Officer - KSA
Elie Abi Rached is Chedid Re's Chief Executive Officer in Saudi Arabia. He is responsible for running Chedid Re's Saudi Arabian business and team.
Prior to that, Elie assisted in establishing Chedid Re's treaty operations and set up a medical mutual fund in Lebanon.
Elie holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Actuarial Sciences and Insurance, an MBA in Finance, is a Microsoft Certified System Engineer, and an Associate in the Charted Insurance Institute, UK.
Alain BouzaidDirectorHead of Treaty
Alain Bouzaid is the head of the treaty division, with a team of highly skilled specialists in health & life and general business that manage a portfolio in excess of USD 100 million premiums.
Prior to joining Chedid Re, Alain was the Managing Director of Nasco Karaoglan in Saudi Arabia which he helped establish. Earlier, he worked 12 years with AXA Group, notably at AXA RE and Paris RE where he was successively in charge of the parametric covers division and the treaty activity for France, Benelux, Southern Europe and Africa.
Alain holds a Master’s degree in Finance and Strategy from Paris Institute of Political Sciences and a Bachelor’s in Corporate and Tax Law from Paris Sud University. He also trained at ENSAE, Paris, on statistical analysis and risk modeling.
Joe AsmarExecutive DirectorGroup Head of Facultative
Joe Asmar is Group Head of Facultative at Chedid Re. He is leading all facultative division lines of business operations across the region.
Prior to that, Joe was a Business Development Officer at Alico - Group Management Division and an Account Executive for the Non-Motor Department at Arabia Insurance Company.
Joe holds an MBA from the Lebanese American University in Beirut.
Rana HafdaExecutive DirectorDeputy Group Head of Facultative
Rana Hafda is Deputy Group Head of Facultative at Chedid Re, assisting in the management of all facultative lines of business and leading the casualty and financial lines department.
Prior to that, Rana was a Risk Assessor at Middle East International Adjusters.
Rana holds a bachelor of Arts from the American University in Beirut.
Deyaa El SawyDirectorFacultative KSA
Deyaa El-Sawy is Chedid Re KSA Facultative Director, assisting in the management of all facultative lines of business in the KSA operation, building and maintaining solid business relationships with counterparties both ceding companies and reinsurers and identifying and developing new opportunities in line with Chedid Re objectives.
Deyaa has more than 10 years of experience in Reinsurance and Risk Management, underwriting of general lines, motor and medical in the Saudi Market.
Deyaa holds a Bachelor’s of Commerce in Emphasis Accounting from Zagazig University.
NAJI EL KADADirectorFacultative Lebanon
Naji El Kada is the Director of the Facultative Division. He is responsible for the Property, Engineering and War & Terrorism at Chedid Re.
Naji started his career in RAK Insurance in Dubai before joining Chedid Re. He was later assigned in Qatar for the startup operations of Seib Insurance & Reinsurance Co., a direct insurance company of the group, where he spent 3 years before joining back Chedid Re in Lebanon.
Naji holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Business and Management from St Joseph University and a Masters in Finance from Ecole Superieure de Commerce in Nice, France.
WADIH HARDINIDirectorFacultative UAE
Wadih Hardini is Head of the Facultative Division at Chedid Re UAE.
Prior to that, Wadih was Manager at the Casualty Department at Chedid Re Lebanon.
Wadih holds a Masters in Law and an MBA from Ecole Supérieure des Affaires.
